Code of Conduct | Cedora®

Cedora® | Agene Pty Ltd

This is our commitment to every customer. Not a legal document. Not fine print. A plain-language statement of how we operate and what you can expect from us.

Effective 1 January 2025 — Agene Pty Ltd (ABN registered, Australia)
Our approach

Cedora® sells furniture direct to Australian homes. We cut out the wholesale chain, which means the price you pay reflects the product, not the margin stacked on top of it. That model only works if people trust us. So we're clear about what we do, what we won't do, and how we handle it when something goes wrong.

Our principles

Six things we hold ourselves to

Honest product information

What you see is what you get. Dimensions, materials, finishes — we don't inflate, airbrush, or obscure. Back orders are flagged before you order.

Fair pricing, always

One price. No artificial "was/now" anchors. No manufactured urgency. Any discount reflects a genuine reduction from our regular price.

Returns handled properly

30-day change-of-mind policy plus all ACL guarantees. Damaged or defective items are fixed without requiring you to escalate or argue.

Real support, real people

Every query handled by our Australian team. No scripted deflection. If we can't resolve something quickly, we'll tell you why — and when we will.

Your data stays yours

We collect only what's needed to process your order. We don't sell or share your data for marketing. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

Ethical sourcing

We work directly with manufacturing partners in Vietnam. We visit regularly. We won't work with factories that cut corners on wages, safety, or the environment.

01 — Product information

What we tell you about our products

Every product listing includes real dimensions, the species of timber, the finish type, and assembly requirements. Where colour varies due to natural timber grain, we say so. Instructions are available before purchase.

We use 3D viewers and augmented reality so you can see how a piece fits in your actual space — using true-to-scale models. Most of our product photos are taken on the actual furniture, not CGI renders.

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), businesses must not make false or misleading representations. If any product does not match its description, you are entitled to a remedy under ACL s. 54–56. Learn about your rights →

02 — Pricing and promotions

How we price and what our sales actually mean

Cedora® is a direct-to-consumer brand — there's one price, not a wholesale price marked up to a retail price. Our regular prices are real prices, not inflated anchors designed to make discounts look better.

When we run a promotion, the "was" price reflects what we actually charged for at least 28 days prior. If we say "limited stock," the stock is genuinely limited.

  • Price matching: We don't offer a guarantee, but if you see a comparable product cheaper, let us know — we'll consider it.
  • Promotional codes: One code per order. Codes cannot be applied after an order is placed.
  • Price drops: If a price drops after you order but before your item ships, contact us within 48 hours and we'll apply the difference.

Australian Consumer Law prohibits misleading "was/now" pricing where the reference price was never genuinely charged. ACCC guidelines require it be charged for a reasonable period. We comply.

04 — Returns and consumer guarantees

Your rights and how we handle them

Australian Consumer Law gives you guaranteed rights when you buy from us. These aren't optional, and we don't add conditions the law doesn't allow.

  • Acceptable quality: Products must be safe, durable, free from defects, and fit for purpose. If yours isn't, we fix it, replace it, or refund it — depending on the severity.
  • Match description: Products must match what was advertised. If they don't, you have a remedy.
  • Fit for disclosed purpose: If you told us what you needed the product for and we confirmed it would work, it needs to work.

Beyond statutory rights, we offer a 30-day change-of-mind return policy. Items must be in original condition and packaging. Return freight is covered for defective items; change-of-mind returns are at your cost unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

We don't require a receipt — your order confirmation email is sufficient. ACL guarantees apply for a "reasonable time" based on product type; for solid timber furniture, that's typically several years.

If we can't resolve a complaint, you can contact the ACCC, NSW Fair Trading, or your state consumer protection agency. We will not penalise you for exercising your rights or contacting a regulator.

05 — Privacy and data

What we collect and why

We collect your name, contact details, delivery address, and payment information to process your order. We collect browsing data via cookies to improve our website and run advertising. That's it.

  • No data sales: We don't sell your data to third parties for marketing.
  • Transactional email: Order confirmations and shipping updates don't require opt-in. Marketing emails do.
  • Unsubscribing: Opting out of marketing doesn't affect order communications.
  • Access and correction: You can request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it at any time.

Full Privacy Policy at cedora.com.au/policies/privacy-policy. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

06 — Supply chain and sourcing

Where our furniture comes from

Our furniture is manufactured in Vietnam, where we've built direct relationships with a small group of factories over ten years. We visit these factories. We know the conditions. We choose partners based on quality, consistency, and how they treat their workers — not lowest price.

  • Timber sourcing: Commercially farmed species only — solid oak, pine, acacia. No old-growth or protected species.
  • Worker conditions: Partners pay at or above local industry wages, maintain safe working conditions, and do not use child labour.
  • Modern slavery: We comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and take reasonable steps to identify and address risks in our supply chain.

We're a small brand. We can't audit every tier of the supply chain. But we take responsibility for the parts we control directly.

This is who we are.
Hold us to it.

If you see us falling short of anything in this document, tell us. We'd rather know than not.
